An array of cross-curricular activities and the use of ever-changing technology broaden the solid academic base.
Student Leaders Witness History
On Thursday, January 3, Student Council Officers and Commissioners, accompanied by Ms. Gallagher (Moderator) and Sister Rosanne (Principal), traveled to the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia to participate in the Interfaith Inaugural Service for Mayor Michael Nutter. The Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia, led by Co-Conveners Cardinal Justin Rigali, Imam Anwar Muhaiman, and Rabbi David Straus, issued an open invitation for all to join in this service. Shanelle Harrison, Amber Watkins, Toni Lomax, and Calvin Malcome (eighth graders), Amanda Keaton (seventh grader), Cameron Morris (fifth grader) and the two staff members braved a wind chill of 1 degree to join the Religious Leaders Council, Mayor Nutter, and about 200 others to pray and pledge to work for peace. The Holy Cross contingent shared some moments of conversation with Mayor Nutter and his wife and with Cardinal Rigali.
